A little about myself

 

Equine Clarity is a fully insured Cotswold based business offering Reiki treatments for equines (and sometimes even humans!).

 

Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) meaning ‘universal life-force energy’, is an ancient Japanese treatment.  It is totally non-invasive, and an extremely relaxing experience.

 

My name is Julez and I had my first experience of reiki in 2008.  I found it so exhilarating that I went on to qualify as a Reiki Practitioner myself.

 

As I was coming to the end of my 20+ years service in the military, I was contemplating what to do with my new found freedom, and although I knew that Reiki was the path for me, something didn’t quite feel right – like there was something more needed.

 

I was discussing my options with an advisor one day when a young man stepped forward who had been listening in (being a bit nosey!).  It turned out that his family back in Ireland had race horses, and he had recently qualified as an Equine Dentist.  He asked me if I had ever considered taking my reiki to the next level and specialising in Equines.

 

As I am originally from East Yorkshire and spent most of my adult life in the military, I had never grown up around horses; yet I have always had such a love for them.   I spent a lot of my spare time on the base in Germany at the stables, as I loved being around the horses.  I find them extremely calming and fascinating.

 

The more I thought about what the very nosey Irish man said to me, the more I realised that it was indeed the perfect path for me, as, not only have I always had such a bond with animals, I would get to spend my days with these amazing creatures.

 

After a lot of research, I came across my future Equine Reiki Master and made first contact.  I immediately booked myself onto the basic Equine Reiki course and loved every second of it.  This lady had the most beautiful, most relaxed horses I had ever seen.  (They love their reiki so much that some of them literally lay down when you enter their stable as they knew what was coming). After this course I was hooked, and went on to qualify to Advanced Level.

 

I then decided that I needed more experience working around horses in the more general sense, and also wanted to see first-hand how different equines react to Reiki when receiving it for the first time.  I started helping out at my local stables and riding school about a year ago, and was given my first Reiki project of my own. I came to realise that I had definitely made the right career choice for myself, and really wish that I could thank that very nosey Irishman for listening in on my conversation.
